For the MAC, go into system preferences and click on Hardware>Print & Fax Icon. Choose your printer and follow the Open Printer Utility tab.

It's nice to see somebody blogging with authority about the benefits of using compatible ink cartridges. In my eyes any disadvantages, if they exist at all, are massively overstated and for reasons which should be obvious. More power to your elbow.
